A handwork-only kit pairing waterwheel-milled cedar-leaf incense from Okuyame with an incense plate from a 420-year-old Agano-ware kiln. The incense is Baba Water Mill's natural cedar leaf, with no fragrance or chemicals. The plate is 'Sumi to Yuki,' by Kozuru Yuta, the third-generation potter of the Koushin-Gama kiln in Fukuchi, Fukuoka. Each is made by hand from local clay, so no two pieces share the same face of ink-black or snow-white.

Because the thing you burn and the vessel that holds it come together from the start, you can begin the day it arrives, even if incense is new to you.
