In Japan, tatami mats are made in small crafting mills that are usually family businesses. Nowadays, the tatami craftsmen population is both decreasing and aging, as many of their children who are supposed to be inheritors choose other industries. We are trying to connect to all the tatami craftsmen in Japan to raise concern about this precious but "endangered" industry.
