One mat, and the day moves with you. Morning stretches in the living room, an afternoon retreat in the study, a quiet spot on the balcony as the light fades, or a corner beside your desk when you need five minutes to breathe. Lay it down wherever the moment calls, and relax in seconds.
Size: 100 × 126 cm (about 39 × 50 in)
Weight: 2.3 kg
Folded size: 100 × 42 × 4.8 cm (about 39 × 17 × 1.9 in)
To let the natural texture of igusa (Japanese rush) shine through, this mat is woven entirely undyed, using only the most lustrous, pure rush grass. The design draws its inspiration from Edo Komon, a traditional Japanese dyeing craft, combining 16 patterns that symbolize good fortune and happiness. Its beauty shifts with the light, revealing a different expression depending on how it's viewed.
Because the pattern is woven into the tatami before it's cut to size, its placement shifts slightly from mat to mat. The one you receive will be a unique, random variation.

Our products are designed around natural materials and quiet, understated design, and tend to suit Japandi, Wabi-sabi, and minimalist interiors. Product photos show the natural color and texture of the materials used, which can help you judge the fit for your space.

Many of our pieces include a handcrafted element — our igusa tatami items are woven and then hand-finished by our craftspeople, while incense and ceramics are made in small artisan workshops. Because production often relies on hand work, quantities can be limited, so an item you love may not always be available to reorder right away.

Ikehiko Quality
We make some pieces ourselves and carefully select others from artisans. Whether they come from our own workshops or from craftspeople across Kyushu, the standard is the same: real natural materials from Kyushu, shaped by genuine skill.
